Phil Treloar & James McLean, with special guests
James McLean - Drumset
Phil Treloar - Marimba and other percussion
A natural extension to their 2013 Australia Council Mentorship project, Dispositions is a duo planted in egalitarian soil. Investigating spontaneous possibilities in performance, they explore creative ideas which include other like-minded persons. At Lebowskis they will be performing a night of improvised music, first as a duo, and second as a quartet with Sam Pankhurst (bass) and a fourth member, Andy Butler (Piano).
Currently Melbourne based, James McLean has already made a substantial contribution to creative music in Australia having committed to disc his All Talk – A Shorthand Of Sensation in addition to making landmark accounts with Mark Hannaford and James Macauley, among others.
Longtime resident in Japan, composer/performer, Phil Treloar, has a creative history in Australian music that dates back to the early 1970s as co-founder of the benchmark Jazz Co/Op and from then has maintained a continuous stream of exploratory initiatives through to the present.
