5:15pm - Blue Poles Trio

Mark Jenkinson - hang drum, congas and guitar
Erik Adams - violin and guitar
Wony Choi - modern and early flutes

The Blue Poles Trio formed in mid 2017 to work on the idea of improvised global music ambience using the haunting sound of the hang drum as a foundation for dialogues with flute and violin.

This idea grew to include acoustic guitars and congas, broadening the trio’s soundscapes from quasi classical meditations to a fusion of extended rhythmic explorations drawing on the collective musicians backgrounds in a variety of folkloric styles.

The trio is made up of experienced musicians who perform and record in the classical, folk and rock contexts.
